My favorite camping food

We are now back from our camping trip, which was fun, but also icy cold. Skagen was beautiful, but the weather definitely didn’t cooperate with us; it rained a lot of the time, and we had to wear winter clothes like a hat, scarf and mittens to keep warn during the day. We did have three hours of sunshine though, and I immediately launched into one of my favorite camping activities: cooking.

I roasted some delicious hot dogs, that I had bought from the local butcher, along with some small baguettes. Then I put together something that resembled a Greek salad; avocado, feta cheese, tomatoes and cucumber tossed together.

And then there is a very important piece of this meal that the pictures are not showing: garlic butter. Mashed up butter, finely chopped garlic and parsley all mixed together and put on warm baguettes. Of course good mustard, ketchup and red wine are also an integral part of this meal. Everything tastes better when it is eaten outdoors.


And then, when you have enjoyed your meal, you can use the barbeque to warm up your frozen hands.
